The Bigelow Residence is a residential project where contemporary architecture is expressed through light, proportion, and natural materiality. Located in Newton, Massachusetts, this two-story home integrates spatial openness and warmth through the use of European White Oak.
The double-height great room, defined by vertical wood slats and a central fireplace, serves as the architectural heart of the home. An upper-level bridge connects the private spaces, creating an open composition filled with natural light from expansive floor-to-ceiling windows.

The unifying element throughout the interior is the wood flooring. The project features RIVA Elite Cotton color, an engineered European white oak hardwood floor with generous eight-inch-wide planks. This wide plank oak flooring visually elongates the spaces and enhances continuity across the open-plan layout.
Its light, matte finish reflects natural daylight, amplifying the sense of volume, while the authentic character of the wood — with subtle knots and refined grain — introduces organic texture and sophistication. The result is a balance between contemporary minimalism and timeless warmth.

This project demonstrates how RIVA Spain hardwood floors can elevate a luxury residence, providing aesthetic cohesion, technical performance, and an elegant natural presence.
