Set within a quiet, forested plot, the Grand Blackstone Residence is a refined expression of scale, light, and material harmony. Led by interior designer and homeowner Kelly LaPlante, the project reflects a vision of elevated restraint—where large windows invite natural light into every corner, and a curated palette of wood, matte black, brushed brass, and soft whites defines the atmosphere.
At the core of the design are the floors by RIVA Spain. The residence features RIVA MAX “Earth”, a 10-inch-wide plank in character-grade European White Oak that serves as both inspiration and foundation. Its earthy tone and organic grain bring warmth and subtle movement, grounding the home’s minimalist geometry.
Inspired in part by the aesthetic of Naples, Florida, the wide planks and natural finish create a sunlit, coastal feel that flows seamlessly throughout the home. In the expansive living room, the flooring elongates the space while softening its double-height scale. In the kitchen, it connects areas of function and gathering with quiet continuity.
A standout moment appears in the dining room, where the oak extends vertically to form a floor-to-ceiling wine feature—transforming the material into a bold architectural statement. Across bedrooms and even the staircase, the same language continues: warm, tactile, and effortlessly sophisticated.
