RIVA Spain and AIA Miami Announce the 2nd Edition of the RIVA Prize for Excellence in Sustainable Design, First Prize is a Trip for Two to Spain
The partnership and prize underscore a shared vision for sustainability in architecture
MIAMI, FL — May 29th, 2025 — RIVA Spain, a leading high-end European wood manufacturer and surface solutions brand known for offering a Luxurious Connection to Nature, is proud to announce the second edition of the RIVA Prize for Excellence in Sustainable Design, in partnership with AIA Miami.
The RIVA Prize 2025 celebrates and honors outstanding architectural achievements, recognizing architects and designers across the United States, who demonstrate a deep commitment to sustainability, innovation, and environmental responsibility. In 2024, its inaugural edition, the RIVA Prize was awarded to Claudio Salazar, founder and principal architect of RooTSDNA, for the Connor Residence—a project that exemplified the core values of the award: sustainability, innovation, and climate adaptation.

The RIVA Prize will be featured as part of the AIA Miami Design Awards, with the winner to be announced by Borja Iglesias at the annual awards ceremony on October 24, 2025, in Miami. Submissions are open to all AIA members across the US, and entry details will be available on the Design Awards Portal beginning June 5th, 2025 https://aiamiami.org/riva-prize/ until July 25th, 2025. The 2025 RIVA Prize winner will receive an exclusive trip for two to Spain, valued at $10,000, offering a unique opportunity to explore the country’s rich architectural legacy and modern design innovations.
